A Doll as Always, Kristen Stewart Flips Off the Paparazzi

Kristen Stewart

In light of her recent headline-making breakup with Robert Pattinson, we don't blame Kristen Stewart from wanting to stay out of the limelight. But she has seriously got to learn that flipping off the paparazzi is a sure way to get her name into headlines, not stay out of them. Case in point: this article.

K Stew was snapped leaving a waxing salon with friends in Studio City, Calif., on Thursday. Being her ever-lovely, welcoming self, Stewart greeted the eager cameras with an obscene gesture. And while we appreciate Stewart's quest for privacy, this photo was too good not to post.

Selena Gomez Continues to Hang with Teen Boys, Grabs Dinner with Jaden Smith

Selena Gomez, Jaden Smith

Selena Gomez had dinner with Jaden Smith Thursday night at Hakkasan in London — and that's a little bit strange.

The two were spotted exiting the restaurant and then, according to the Huffington Post, they were turned away from Boujis nightclub because Smith is underage. And therein lies the problem: Gomez is 20, Smith is... 14. Does Gomez not have any friends her own age? Why worrying about food miles is missing the point

Jay Rayner in the food stocks

In November 2009, I lost my temper in front of a bank of television cameras in a way I have never done before or since. I was in Los Angeles working as a judge on the second season of the American TV series, Top Chef Masters. For the final, the three remaining competitors had been asked to cook a series of dishes that told their story: their first food experiences, where they are now, where they are going and the like. For the dish that defined where he was going, the famed Las Vegas-based chef Rick Moonen had cooked a venison dish, using meat imported from New Zealand.

Professor Mathieu Deflem finally realised that something truly strange had happened to him when people started asking him for his autograph.

For the professor of sociology at the University of South Carolina is not a celebrity. He is just an academic, who teaches theories about fame in modern popular culture.

Steve Jobs Emails Show How to Win a Hard-Nosed Negotiation

Jobspoints

The U.S. government’s price-fixing lawsuit against Apple goes to trial next month in New York. Ahead of its court date, the U.S. released emails that purport to show Apple was the “ringleader” in a scheme to set artificially high ebook prices with some of the largest American publishers, which have already settled the case.

The emails have mostly been viewed in the context of the lawsuit, but they also provide an extraordinary view of high-stakes negotiation between the leaders of two powerful firms, Apple and News Corp. They start far apart, but over the course of five days, Apple’s then-CEO Steve Jobs successfully pulls the son of News Corp. CEO Rupert Murdoch over to his side.
